![]() Many Olds trombones had been made to order at this period. Model designations had been Solo, Little Medium, Moderate, Large Moderate, Large and Symphony, which did not show a specific bore and bell mixture, but a relatives size. From the first years, he had been offering a range of bore sizes (.485' and dual bores from.494'/.509' to.509'/.535') and bell diameters from 6' to 9 ½'. Implementing brand-new ideas copyrighted in 1912 (some of these are usually included in trombones today), Olds started producing high quality trombones on a small size. It was most likely about this time that he very first provided his new trombones for sale. This early work was completed in a little course behind his house, which had been just southerly of downtown Los Angeles. All along testing with trombone style, he was repairing music group devices full-time by 1910.
